This report, published in March 2021, explores the impact of COVID on people with learning disabilities, asks what could be done better, and highlights some urgent issues that need addressing. 

Taking into account all four nations of the UK, this research thoroughly analyses all aspects of the experience of the pandemic on people with learning disabilities, around 1.5 million people in the UK. 

From challenges in understanding what the pandemic meant in changing people’s lives, to the significance of accessibility of public outdoor space, COVID has brought to the fore a range of issues. Understanding the specificity of the pandemic experience for disabled people is crucial to our national recovery.
